Using EPC with Two Encompass Instances
Starting the Integration
When you’re ready to begin income evaluation during your underwriting review:
- Set up your loan in Encompass.
- Navigate to the Services tab.
- Click Order Additional Services.
- Choose BluePrint Income Expert from the list of providers.
- Click Submit to activate the EPC integration.
Once this is done, Income Expert will receive the following data from Encompass:
- Employment Information: All listed employment, including self-employed and wage-earning jobs for both the borrower and co-borrower.
- Other Income: All items entered in the “Other Income” section for both parties.
- Investment Properties: Any property marked for investment use at the time of closing.
Using IncomeXpert
With your data imported, you’ll use Income Expert just as you would for a standard evaluation:
- Go to the Borrower and Income screens to enter income details for each borrower.
- Open the REO screen to input any rental income.
- Proceed to the Report screen for a summary and review.
When you’re ready to sync the completed evaluation back to Encompass, click the side arrow next to the report and select Send to Encompass to transfer the data.
Important Workflow Note: Modal Limitation in Encompass
Due to how Encompass is designed, only one modal window (like the Services tab) can be open at a time. This limits your ability to review the loan file while using Income Expert through EPC.
Recommended Solution: Use a second instance of Encompass
- Open Encompass a second time.
- Use this second instance in Read-Only mode.
- Access the loan file and the eFolder to review income documentation while completing your evaluation in Income Expert.
This dual-instance setup is especially helpful if you’re working with multiple monitors, enabling you to view both Encompass and Income Expert side by side.
Finalizing the Process
Once your review is complete:
- Confirm all data is entered correctly in Income Expert.
- Click Send to Encompass to sync the results.
- Income Expert will populate the correct income fields in Encompass and upload the income evaluation report directly to the loan’s eFolder.
After a successful sync, close the Income Expert modal and resume your normal workflow in Encompass.
